In 1979 Father Maekane founded The Mophato oa Mants'ase Society.
Father Maekane died peacefully in 1985 and between 1985 and 1999 the management structure of the Home changed many times. On the 4th December 1999 Ntate Ebenezer Malie went to Mohale's Hoek to ask for help for the children of Mants'ase.
Food, clothing and care were provided for the children and emergency building repairs were done. A new Board of Trustees was established and Board Members duly elected in 2001. In 2002 building renovations began.
In 2004, as a guest of Lesotho's Prince Seeiso, Britain's Prince Harry visited Lesotho and spent a week at Mants'ase. The princes later founded the charity Sentebale.
Faith Foundation began working with Mants'ase in 2005.
Lucy Herron volunteered at the Home in 2006 and later founded the charity Msizi Africa.
The Umckaloabo Stiftung began working with Mants'ase in 2008 and Axel and Judith Milberg first visited Mants'ase in 2010.
